This puzzle can be solved with your older version (circa 2006-06-06), but gets stuck with the current version (online) at the point where the old version finds a Y-Wing. When I say "gets stuck" I mean that pressing the "take step" button seems to have no effect and gives no message.

I really appreciate the work you put into the Sudoku Solver,

I was doing some back end work this morning which may have interrupted the solver app. I've just run this and it solves completely with just simple colouring as the hardest strategy. Seems fine right now.

The previous version of the web solver notified the user when all strategies were exhausted with a pop-up message. The message would tell the user they must take a guess. The new version now simply rolls over and tries all the strategies again. Don't know if you consider this a bug. The following puzzle is an example.

[Edited - see link above]

Also, I love your solver. I think it's the best because of it's "step" design versus solving the whole puzzle in one step. The teaching tutorials are some of the best I've seen.

Bob

A bug, well spotted, it wasn't actually doing the last strat. I've fixed it I think, have a go now.
Thanks for the alert!
